Dangerous Bombardment for Stellaris

Dangerous Bombardment for Stellaris

Dangerous Bombardment: Andon’s version of the “Overhaul Orbital Bombardment” mods.

This mod overwrites events/orbital_bombardment.txt and is, unsurprisingly, incompatible with any other mod that does so.

I didn’t like the way the Orbital Bombardment file was laid out, so I completely re-wrote how it works. In my opinion, it’s easier to change individual modifiers – Light bombardment is completely separate from Limited and Full, and so forth.

As far as mechanical changes go, I made a few tweaks:

Light Bombardment:

5% Chance to kill a pop each month
5-15% Chance to kill an Army each month
Limited Bombardment:

25% Chance to kill a pop each month
15-45% Chance to kill an Army each month
65% Chance to ruin a building each month
If the last pop is killed, there is a 20% chance to turn the planet into a Tomb World.
If the planet is turned into a Tomb World, there is a 15% chance of them gaining a negative modifier.
Full Bombardment

60% Chance to kill a pop each month
25-75% Chance to kill an Army each month
80% Chance to ruin a building each month
25% Chance to destroy a ruined building each month
50% Chance to create a tile blocker each month
If the last pop is killed, there is a 30% chance to turn the planet into a Barren World. If this doesn’t happen, the world is turned into a Tomb World instead.
If the planet is turned into a Tomb World, there is a 30% chance fo them gaining a negative modifier.
Armageddon Bombardment

85% Chance to kill a pop each month
15-45% Chance to kill an Army each month
80% Chance to ruin a building each month
25% Chance to destroy a ruined building each month
75% Chance to create a Tile Blocker each month
When the last pop is killed, there is a 50% chance to turn the planet into a Barren World. Otherwise, it is turned into a Tomb World.
If the planet is turned into a Tomb World, it gains one negative modifier, with a 30% chance at a second.
General Changes

All growing pops on a planet are killed when any pop is killed.
If a Ringworld section or Habitat would be turned into a Tomb World, nothing happens.
If a Ringowlrd section or Habitat would be turned into a Barren World, they are turned into a Broken Ringworld section or destroyed, as appropraite.
If a planet is turned into a Barren World, they will have the “Terraforming Candidate” modifier.
Infested worlds are excempted from Tomb/Barren World generation, as otherwise this interferes with the Crisis events.
When determining wether to kill an Army, there are three stages:
Stage 1 applies when the planet’s fortifications are at or above 50%. Bombardment has the lowest chance to kill an Army.
Stage 2 applies when the planet’s fortifications are at or above 25%. Chance to kill an Army is double that of Stage 1.
Stage 3 applies when the planet’s fortifications are below 25%. Chance to kill an Army is triple that of Stage 1.

What is Stellaris mods?

A mod (short for "modification") is an alteration where someone, usually a player, changes some aspect (e.g. the way it looks or behaves) of a video game. Mods may range from small changes and simple tweaks to completely new games made within a video game. Games running on a personal computer are often designed with change in mind, allowing modern PC games to be modified by gamers without much difficulty.
