The X3 Mod

The X3 Mod

“The X3 Project”

It’s finally here, the main mod I’ve been working on from the original Teladi and Boron standalone shipsets I released this year and last year. This is still a WIP with many more things I want to do and add. Included, is pretty much every single ship from Teladi, Boron, Split, Paranid and Argon from X3 Albion Prelude. Not to mention, a few models made by the X3 modding community.

Compatibility

NSC2 Seasons 5 & 6 Compatible
Just like my other mods, this mod is highly recommended to run with NSC2 and was built around it. However, if you insist on playing vanilla, this mod can be used on vanilla. But with a fraction of the amount of ships.

Other Mods
This mod should be compatible with pretty much every other mod. I’m sure it goes without saying to not run this with the Teladi or Boron shipsets. With this mod, they’re redundant now anyway. (note, they will still be supported as standalone shipsets)

Report any compatibility issues and I’ll look into it, but more than likely it’s not going to be a problem with this mod unless they use the same graphical_cultures and species names or something.

Features

Full Shipsets – includes all ship classes in NSC2 except the colossus. Some races still need the juggernaut model ported, will be done in future updates.

Stations – Includes station models for all main stations and starbase stages. More will be ported in future updates including models for megastructures. Lets not forget, X3 didn’t have many racially different stations, eventually I’ll port stations from X2 to make this so.

Soundtracks – What is an X3 mod without the music? Main music tracks added, more will be added in the future

Species – Includes species for the currently included races. Teladi, Boron, Split, Argon and Paranid. I’ve tried making the portraits look a bit better from the previous mods. Lets be honest, they’re hard to blend into the stellaris theme so will eventually make a patch to remove them if people so wish. Full namelists and pre-scripted countries with personalities to suit will be introduced eventually.

FAQ

Nothing shows up after installing the mod
More than likely the launcher. Sometimes it bugs out and never really reads the mod. Best thing to do is go into Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris delete launcher-v1.sqlite and your mod folder. Then re-launch the game, redo your playlists and make sure to have the right playlist active with the mod added!

Guns shoot from same origin, centre of ship
Eventually I will add new origins. But this takes time for what it is. It’s on the to do list, but it’s toward the back of it.

What about Terran/ATF?
Yep! Will be added in a future update (not a seperate mod)

How about all the other x universe races? Xenon, Kha’ak, Yaki, Pirates, Goners
I have plans for them all eventually. Kha’ak and pirates won’t feature as a playable race however, but hopefully an end game crisis and marauders. Xenon, Yaki and Goners have more than enough to be fully playable however, with deep shipsets like the other races.

Are you going to change the defence platforms/ion cannon?
Probably something that’s higher up on my list of updates. So yes. I did try doing the Ion cannon on the Teladi shipset mod, but textures still need a lot more work.

Do I need NSC2 to run this?
No, but you’ll be taking advantage of a fraction of the content. This mod is based around NSC2, so you’ll get a very limited amount of ships.

Please note. I am now going to take a break from modding for a while, this project has made me fall asleep on my keyboard too many times! Please report any bugs, ideas or questions. I usually try to keep on top of them!

What is Stellaris mods?

A mod (short for "modification") is an alteration where someone, usually a player, changes some aspect (e.g. the way it looks or behaves) of a video game. Mods may range from small changes and simple tweaks to completely new games made within a video game. Games running on a personal computer are often designed with change in mind, allowing modern PC games to be modified by gamers without much difficulty. Don't wait and try Stellaris mods right now.
