Real Space – Planetary Exploration Mod

Real Space – Planetary Exploration Mod

Real Space – Planetary Exploration v 1.0.1

This version is compatible with patch 2.7.2 Wells.

New Frontiers update 1.8
Changes:

– Updated art and texture of the planet for Forest World subclass (This is now a tropical subclass).
– Updated art for Monsoon World subclass.
– Added new subclass – Jungle World.
– Minor color correction for Swamp World subclass.

The update is available on Patreon and will appear on Steam on October 24th.

This little mod serves two purposes. The first and foremost goal is to make the game more interesting by making deposits (planetary features) more rare, and finding a valuable strategic planet really important. The second goal is to make the subclasses of New Frontiers unique and make them special without a special set of deposits.
This mod will give you a completely new gaming experience.

Changes to deposits and blockers

Vanilla deposits and blockers have been completely reworked, now they are more unique and no longer tied to certain types of planets.

Blockers are no longer only negative, most of them have advantages and you have to choose.

The blockers will now be referred to as “terraformable deposit”.

Added new simple and rare deposits.

Added starting deposits for all types of planets so that all empires start on equal terms and do not experience a lack of resources at the start.

Added unique “named” Starlord deposits (Patreon Tier), which will appear in singular numbers on a random planet. Now, each new Starlord will receive its own unique deposit in subsequent updates.

Resource Balance

Energy Credits will become more rare and will be highly dependent on the infrastructure and technical development of the empire. The main source of energy credits will be space (here I mean primarily the energy of the stars), not planets. Or the balance will be roughly evenly distributed, especially at the expense of trade value (not for cars and swarm). Trade in general will become more important. You can still find a planet that can provide a significant number of energy regions, this applies to some subclasses. Energy deposits producing 2 or 3 districts will become very rare.

Minerals will continue to be the most abundant resource in the galaxy. However, this resource will become more difficult to access and will almost always be blocked by another deposit that will have to be donated. “To get anaptanium, you need to cut down those damned trees!”

Food … Someone thinks this resource is completely useless. And there is always a lot of it … but it was so before. Now this resource will become even rarer than energy loans. Forget lichen farms and oasis plantations, agriculture is highly dependent on favorable conditions. And in the arctic or desert region, you will never get as much food as in temperate climates. But if you’re lucky, you can grow something in the extreme region.

Some deposits now provide a small (or large) research bonus. Most often it will be sociological research, physics research will be concentrated in space, and engineering research somewhere in between.

The standard starting tech cost is now set to 3 and can be increased to 10. This is due to the fact that deposits now significantly advance science.

Chemists, translucers and gas refiners now create half the rare resources to make rare deposits more valuable.

New Jobs

Added new job types that you can get with certain deposits on the planet. For ordinary empires it is a pioneer and smuggler, for the collective mind it is an opportunist drone and an aberrant drone, for a machine empire it is a scout drone and a renegade drone.

Pioneer produce trade value and society research.
These travelers, hunters and prospectors set off to the unexplored lands of new worlds in search of alien wonders.

Smuggler produce consumer goods and increases immigration significantly reducing trade value on planet.
These adventurers are engaged in clandestine transportation of valuables, goods, prohibited items, or colonists, bypassing government control.

Opportunist Drone produce unity and increase environment tolerance on planet.
These drones are sent to the most remote places of the planet in search of new ways to survive the hive.

Aberrant Drone produce physics, society and engineering research and increase unity produces on planet.
These mutant drones have received genetic changes that cause them to move away from the hive and show signs of consciousness.

Scout Drone produce minerals and physics, society and engineering research.
These exploration drones are exploring hidden areas of the new world in search of rare resources and knowledge.

Renegade Drone produce unity and decrease minerals produces on planet.
Due to failures, these drones have separated from the central intelligence and are engaged in their own production, stealing resources.

Interface

The interface of the list of deposits has been changed.

Added special icons for deposits giving jobs.

Added special icons for the counters of rare deposits and terraformable deposits in the general view of the planet.

Based on the experience of the players, I plan to gradually tweak the balance for a more comfortable game.
New deposits will be added, along with new subclasses in New Frontiers.
I am planning big changes to space deposits, in line with the resource allocation concept described above.

This mod is not compatible with all mods that modify vanilla deposits.
If you are using a mod that changes the game interface, then I recommend moving it in the launcher list below this mod. Since this mod changes the planetary view interface.

Patches:

by AlphaAsh

This mod must be used with Real Space and New Frontiers and below in the launcher list.
This mod makes the game more difficult, keep that in mind.
Due to some peculiarities of the game, deposits that give new jobs will not display them in the description until the planet is colonized. Therefore, a special icon has been created for deposits that give jobs.

My work is completely dependent on your donations. I have a lot of plans, friends, but they will be realized only thanks to you. All mod updates will be released primarily on Patreon and only after published in Steam.
