Slightly More Celestial Objects Mod

Slightly More Celestial Objects Mod

Note 1: This mod is not iron-man compatible. You can technically run an existing save game with this mod, but since this is a galaxy generation mod, with a lot of content associated with this mod’s generated systems, you would need to run a new game to play practically all of this mod’s contents

This mod introduces a few celestial objects that are not in the game (save for one, but has a modifier added to it), which includes:

Rogue Planets

  • Also known as starless planets, they do not orbit a star, and instead orbit around the galactic centre
  • Includes sub-brown dwarfs, which form like stars but do not have enough mass for thermonuclear fusion
  • Requires Experimental Subspace Navigation to start exploring them (take a Science Ship and start travelling to systems close to Empty Space systems, a notification will pop up once you find that system to connect to Empty Space systems), then another tech to build starbases, habitats etc. near them
  • New anomalies and events associated with rogue planets and sub-brown dwarfs

New Black Hole Types

  • Three types of black holes: Schwarzschild (the vanilla black hole, remodelled a bit), Kerr (i.e.: rotating, spinning), Reissner-Nordström (i.e.: charged)
  • Kerr and Reissner-Nordström black holes have additional system weather effects
  • New starbase buildings associated with Kerr (requires both Subspace Sensors and Self-Evolving Logic) and Reissner-Nordström black holes (requires Subspace Sensors and a new event, stated below)
  • A new event associated with Reissner-Nordström black holes (requires Quantum Energy States as one of the requirements)

Bok Globules

  • Dark nebulae, and sometimes referred to as ‘stellar nurseries’
  • If you built an outpost in those systems, and play for long enough, you may get to see something rather interesting…

Compatibility

This mod alters the following entries (in italics) in the following vanilla files:

  • common/game_rules/00_rules.txt (system_blocks_sensors)
  • common/scripted_triggers/00_scripted_triggers.txt (has_no_non_gate_megastructure) (Not recommended to overwrite)

Compatibility patches

(makes Penrose Spheres only be able to be built around Kerr black holes)

What is Stellaris mods?

A mod (short for "modification") is an alteration where someone, usually a player, changes some aspect (e.g. the way it looks or behaves) of a video game. Mods may range from small changes and simple tweaks to completely new games made within a video game. Games running on a personal computer are often designed with change in mind, allowing modern PC games to be modified by gamers without much difficulty. Don't wait and try Stellaris mods right now.
