Exploration reworked For Mod

A solution to micromanagement hell. This mod unlocks the automated exploration feature by introducing a starting tech called “Exploration Codex”. The original “Automated Exploration Protocols” tech got changed providing solely a set of bonuses for the science ships.

There are a set of other mods granting the Automated Exploration Protocols at the game start, but they work differently (through events). My approach is lighter performance-wise. Plus the vanilla version of AEP has a survey speed modifier (+50%), therefore having that one straight at the game start doesn’t seem right.

As for the compatibility, no files were overwritten, so it should be compatible with everything. To tweak the vanilla tech I overwrote the “tech_automated_exploration” technology in a separate file. As a result u may mention a “Duplicate technology: tech_automated_exploration” line in the error.log, but there are no actual problems it creates, so just ignore it.
