Unemployment Demotion Time Fix Mod

Unemployment Demotion Time Fix Mod

Compatible with 2.6.*

Save game compatible
NOT Achievement compatible

Introduction

Ever felt like it’s super annoying and unrealistic that pops take literally forever (like 10 years) if they get unemployed and need to demote to a lower working class? No more… this simple mod fixes the time pops take to demote.

Time pops need to demote to a lower working class after getting unemployed:

Vanilla:
Ruler demotion time => ~ 10 years (~ 3600 days)
Specialist demotion time => ~ 5 years (~ 1800 days)

With this mod:
Ruler demotion time => ~ 4-5 months (~ 144 days)
Specialist demotion time => ~ 2-3 months (~ 72 days)

… by decreasing the time to 2-5 months i made sure not to remove the mechanic completely from the game (also since there are some options to reduce it further with crivics/traditions etc.) but i made it more realistic and less unnecessarily painful and annoying

… please note: AI Empires are affected by those changes as well. So this mod is not a human-player only cheat. It’s just an improvement/rework of a broken mechanic of the game.

Compatibility

This is an ultra light-weight mod and should be compatible with almost every other mod on the workshop. The only vanilla code that was changed is one line of code in static modifiers, written in a new file.

IMPORTANT

This mod is save game compatible BUT if you are loading an old save game (with this mod enabled for the first time) and a pop is already unemployed and demoting (with the old huge vanilla demotion timer) then you need to put that pop into work for a second (switch it with another pop that is employed) => after that the pop will get the new and lower pop demotion time. New unemployed demoting pops will receive the new timer automatically.
