Formidable Star Eater – The Companion Cube

Formidable Star Eater – The Companion Cube

Formidable Star Eaters!!

Summary

Are you disappointed in the Star Eaters in the base game? Do you think the Cube is too underwhelming compared to what the game advertises it as? Well try this one for size!

Features

  • Much improved Star Eaters, with higher hit points, more sections and slots, and bigger too!
  • The Star Eater is now divided into one big cube, accompanied by four smaller cubes which will provide fire support. It can house up to 10 Hangar Slots which can be equipped with mini-cubes, for a total of 15 cubes!
  • Star Eaters now come with its own reactor (That can actually power itself this time), a unique computer and its own T and H weapons! All of which requires more dark matters.
  • To compensate for the massive buffs, the Star Eaters now have components added to their costs as well as upkeeps, and you only get a single prototype version at first.

Why buff it though?

  • It is advertised as a fleet killer, but it is hilariously under-equipped to do so, hell it loses 1v1 to a Jugg!
  • Its reactor is not even powerful enough to power the cube! And the Dark Matter Reactor provides the exact same power as the Zero Point One!
  • Awesome things are supposed to be awesome, my man.

Known Issues and Limitations

  • The mini-cubes from the strike crafts use only avian designs, but its so stupidly small most people won’t notice it until I mention it…crap

Balance

  • The Cube has 1,000,000 hull hp (The first prototype has only 50% for 10 years). So its going to be extremely hard to beat, but it’s also extremely expensive, and now takes up 100 naval capacity.
  • The Cube no longer costs fixed amount of 10,000 Dark Matter, but 7500 Dark Matter plus all the component costs, as well as all associated upkeep.
  • The special components exclusive to the Cube all use Dark Matter in addition to a good chunk of alloys, and are generally superior to standard components.
  • A fully decked Star Eater’ll be expensive as hell to both build and maintain, so don’t go overboard my man.
  • You only get a single cube when you unlock it, and it has a 50% hull/armor/fire rate debuffs for 10 years.

Save and Mod Compatibility

  • Overwrites everything related to the Star Eater itself (Ship size, sections, global designs)
  • Overwrites crisis.6001 to make it give only one cube and a better image.

What is Stellaris mods?

A mod (short for "modification") is an alteration where someone, usually a player, changes some aspect (e.g. the way it looks or behaves) of a video game. Mods may range from small changes and simple tweaks to completely new games made within a video game. Games running on a personal computer are often designed with change in mind, allowing modern PC games to be modified by gamers without much difficulty.
